On Thursday, January 25th, at approximately 3:19 p.m., the NYU Department of Campus Safety received a report of a robbery that occurred outside of 1 University Place, on the Waverly Place side of the building.
The complainant, an NYU student, reported that around 2:45 p.m., while they were on Waverly Place walking towards Broadway, two unknown persons came up to them and stated they were looking for donations. The complainant attempted to keep walking, but one of the suspects grabbed their arm. The suspects stated that they had recently left jail and that they were in possession of firearms. The complainant took out money from their wallet and gave it to the suspects. The suspects then left the area, walking towards Broadway. No firearms were displayed. No injuries were reported.

The suspects are described as male-presenting with dark complexions, with a mustache and beard. They were wearing dark bubble-style jackets.
