Making a Difference Guides New Head of Holocaust Center

“One person can make a difference, and that person can most definitely be you.”
That’s the guiding principle that drives Irvin Moreno-Rodriguez '15, M.A. '22 as the new director of the Sara and Sam Schoffer Holocaust Resource Center at Stockton University. It’s a variation of a statement his predecessor Gail Rosenthal used to tell students who came to the center for guidance.

Staller Family Honors Son’s Legacy Through Writing Award
|
With tears in her eyes, Billie Staller read the poignant words of Ralph Waldo Emerson: “To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children.”
These lines, from the poem “Success,” hold a deep personal meaning for Billie, who received the poem after her son Paul’s passing. Billie presented a copy of it to Lydia Pool, the newest recipient of the Paul D. Staller '97 Writing Center Tutor Award, at the award’s annual ceremony on Aug. 23.

Professor’s Deep-Sea Discovery Could Help Find Alien Life
|
Lauren Seyler believes the search for alien life in the universe begins much closer to home — on the bottom of the ocean.
The Stockton University assistant Biology professor — who also dabbles in astrobiology — spent three weeks this summer off the coast of Chile as the co-principal scientist on a research expedition studying the ocean floor near the Atacama Trench, at depths of more than 9,300 feet.
