MONDAY: ACHIEVEMENTS
IUP senior is named Major of the Year; Cook Honors College director, students are conference stars; music graduates earn state honors; and more
In a studio setting, a young person in a mask and a large T-shirt with paint splotches holds a paintbrush and gets paint from a palette to work on a mural in the background. A man in plain clothes is painting at the far end of the mural. Details of the mural that are visible are a woman speaking on a platform, people sitting on the ground and reading, stacks of books, a person at a desk, and a stream of musical notes.

Coming Soon to Leonard Hall

Professor Ivan Fortushniak’s painting students have been working on a mural for the College of Arts and Humanities that celebrates the college’s merging of two branches of learning. The mural will be installed in Leonard Hall next fall. Since graduating in December, lead designer Kaycee Morgan (at work with Fortushniak) has continued to help with the project. Other key contributors are seniors Keegan Fulton-Schuller and Bric Webber and December graduate Claire Shemon. The newest Department of Art and Design students to work on the project are Olivia Burger, Kayla Check, Owen Damicantonio, McKenna Griffiths, Amber Hearn, and Sarah Trafton.
