University College Structure
to Change

Since its 2018 opening, the University College has had a goal of helping students find their way. That goal will get a boost this summer as the IUP Libraries and several student support services move or take shape under this umbrella.
IUP NOW WILL BE PUBLISHED TUESDAYS, WEDNESDAYS, AND THURSDAYS THIS SUMMER. THERE WILL BE NO NEWSLETTER TUESDAY, JUNE 1.
UNIVERSITY NEWS
After 29 years of service to the university, Mary Morgan will retire in June as assistant vice president for Alumni and Friends. She started in the Office of Annual and Planned Giving five months after her 1991 IUP graduation.
Following the retirement of Deanne Snavely in June, Anne Kondo, Madia Department of Chemistry, will lead the college through August 6. Geoscience’s Steve Hovan will then serve as interim dean until the national search for a dean is complete.
While the Centers for Disease Control has new guidelines on COVID-19 vaccinations and face coverings, IUP will continue to follow its current requirements until Pennsylvania Department of Health and State System guidance changes.
Best Value Schools has ranked IUP’s Master of Education in Literacy program seventh among programs of its kind in the nation. IUP is the only Pennsylvania school on the list.
Campus maps showing current Americans with Disabilities Act accessibility and construction activity are now available for download.
Publishing monthly this summer, the Digest includes in this issue women’s tennis success at nationals and other sports updates, Asian American/Pacific Islander Heritage and LGBTQ Pride months, and other events and opportunities.
