Hi Neighbor!
Sometimes I feel entangled in my thoughts and have a tough time unwinding. Lots of input from the outside often generates knots on my inside. Wish I could be transported to the ocean where I always find tranquility, but I can’t always get away.
Then I discovered ASMR online, an acronym for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response. It consists of videos with repetitive quiet sounds like rain, soap carving, pencil drawing, slime crunching. I find it soothing and relaxing (and a little weird) but it’s always available.
I discovered that, for me it just takes a few minutes, and my boiling mind settles to a simmer. These videos are extremely popular, some have millions of views.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month.
Mental Health Awareness Month has been observed in the United States since 1949. It was started by the Mental Health America organization to increase awareness of the importance of mental health as being a critical part of overall wellness. Every May, The National Alliance on Mental Illness(NAMI) joins this national movement in order to raise awareness about mental health and fight the stigma associated with mental illness.
Locally, NAMI Main Line PA, an affiliate of NAMI, provides information, education, and support to people with mental illness, their families and friends…with recovery as the goal, all free-of-charge.

Sweet best friends Ant & Gigi
This beautiful pair, Ant & Gigi, are bonded besties and extremely affectionate. These staff favorites were found in a grocery store parking lot. They have been happily receiving daily snuggles and pets from the loving staff at Providence Animal Center in Media. They would thrive in a low-traffic environment with kids middle school-age and up. Unlimited toe-bean massages and ear scratches would be ideal, but they understand they must share the love between themselves.
Amazing cats like these two are available to adopt at shelters every day. If you'd like to give Ant & Gigi the fur-ever home they deserve, stop by Providence Animal Center to meet them. Their adoption package includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccines and more. Visit the website for information about the quick adoption process and operating hours.
