End-of-year plans

Seniors - we want to honor you!
Honk-and-wave parades, yard signs, media attention - schools and D51 have plans to recognize the Class of 2020! There are also plans for a senior video project (click here for more). 
Rescheduled graduation dates have also been announced. Click here to see when graduation ceremonies will take place for your school.
Kindergarten registration
While some in-person parts of kindergarten registration will have to wait, such as handing in a birth certificate, proof of residency, and immunization records, you can start kindergarten registration through your ParentVUE account now. Learn more here.
GJHS Orange & Black journalists win national award
Student coverage of building conditions at GJHS earned them the 2020 Student Journalism Impact Award from the Journalism Education Association and Quill & Scroll International. Learn more about this big achievement here.

Emergency meals extended
Due to popular demand, D51 emergency meal services will continue through June 30. Click here to learn more. A schedule is posted here, with locations subject to change after May 21.

New board member selected
D51 School Board members have selected Chief Deputy District Attorney Trish Mahre to be the newest member of the board! Ms. Mahre will fill the Director District C seat vacated by former board member John Williams. Her first meeting will be May 5.
Sports updates
Congratulations to D51 Western Slope League all-conference athletes in boys and girls basketball and wrestling (Judah Guajardo and Jacob Lee from Palisade High School)!
Spring Athletes: All who paid a spring sports fee will receive a refund from their school. Please allow time for processing.
Two D51 students earn full-ride Daniels Fund scholarships
Kylie Babeon (PHS) and Brody Perlick (FMHS) are among 212 seniors in four states to earn the prestigious 2020 Daniels Fund Scholarship! Learn more here, and congratulations to all seniors headed off to college this fall with scholarships and grants! 
D51 nurses donate PPE
District 51 nurses donated 50,600 gloves collected from 41 of our schools to area hospitals and organizations in need on March 30. The gloves came from health offices, special needs and science classrooms, and custodians.
D51 Foundation Update
The foundation's annual Teacher Appreciation Week and Paper Doll Fundraiser activities will continue this year! You can purchase a paper doll here, and it will be emailed to your favorite teacher with a personalized message May 4-8. Proceeds will support professional learning and student technology. 
D51 nurses named Nightingale Award finalists
Congrats to D51 nurses Sheri Campbell (pictured) and Heather Schuman, who were honored as Nightingale Award finalists during a virtual celebration on April 1! Learn more here.
