Keep Moving Forward Together!
We are only 20% away from our pledge goal, and still need your help!
In order to continue moving forward together and fund our mission… please return your 2019-2020 pledge form by April 7th!
We are grateful to all of you who have submitted your pledge forms. However, there are many that have not yet submitted a 2019-2020 pledge form.
The Fellowship operates on a fiscal year of July - June, and requests pledges from our membership on an annual basis, even those members who are participating through EFT. We do not need you to pay anything right now. Pledges help the Fellowship plan ahead for the upcoming fiscal year, and prepare a viable operating budget; which includes all personnel and administrative costs, program expenses, and building and grounds maintenance. All of which are needed to enable the Fellowship to Keep Moving Forward!
Click HERE for more information and for an online pledge form. You may also find blank pledge forms and envelopes in the Fellowship Hall. Please contact Phyllis Schmitt, Business Administrator, at phyllis@fvuuf.org or 920.731.0849 with questions about your pledge.

Transgender Visibility, Centering and Celebration!
Trans Day of Visibility is today, a day to honor and celebrate the beautiful spectrum of people who identify as Transgender, Genderqueer, Nonbinary, or Gender-nonconforming (among others). We are going to center and celebrate the voices of trans and nonbinary folks here at the Fellowship. Come to learn, to listen, and to envision a world without the rigid confines of the gender binary.

Teaching and Learning Congregation
with Rev. Christina Leone-Tracy and Kim Hartman, Director of Religious Education

American Sign Language interpretation provided by Jacqueline Corey (10:45)
When we think about Religious Education, we often think of a particular program, a particular wing of our building, and lots of little kids. But what if our whole congregation was a teaching and learning laboratory for lifelong growth in mind and spirit? Come explore the future of religious education with our director of religious education, Kim Hartman, and our senior minister, Christina Leone-Tracy.
Upcoming Programs
Movie Connection Saturday: Babe the Movie
Saturday, March 30 at 4:30 pm
Narrowly escaping his fate as dinner, Babe bonds with a border collie and discovers that he too can herd sheep. But will the other farm animals accept a pig who doesn't conform to the farm's social hierarchy? All are invited to find out! Bring a pillow, blanket and non peanut snack if you wish, and popcorn will be provided.
Invitation to Consider Membership
Joining the Fellowship as a member can be a meaningful step in connecting more deeply to the Fellowship community.  Rev. Leah Hart-Landsberg and director of congregational life, Marie Luna, meet with those who are interested in joining and the next date we have scheduled is on March 31st at 9:00 am. This will be the last opportunity to be able to vote at the June annual meeting. If you have been considering joining, please email Marie at marie@fvuuf.org.
Spring Music Social
The spring music social is Sunday, April 7, from 3:00 to 4:00 pm, with light refreshments afterward. Share your music at this very informal event with supportive music lovers. Performer sign-up sheets are on the Music Social table in the Fellowship Hall or contact Joanne Klinkert (klinkertj@juno.com) to sign up and with questions. Listeners welcome!

Essentials: Food and Shelter for All JAM monthly meeting: 6:30 pm, Monday, April 8 at Copper Rock 210 W. College Ave., Appleton. Interested? Please join us! For more information contact Angie Miller at starlight54302@yahoo.com or 920.810.7968.
Wellspring Wednesday
April 10; 6:30-8:00 pm
With Terra Winston, Associate Dean of Spiritual and Religious Life at Lawrence University
Our Wellspring Wednesday program nurtures the lifelong development of the whole person - body, mind, heart, and spirit - through broad and flexible opportunities for study, exploration, reflection, and spiritual practice. This year's focus will be the six Unitarian Universalist sources. Drawing from our third Source, which states that we draw inspiration from “Wisdom from the world's religions which inspires us in our ethical and spiritual life,” Terra will share what this source means to her.
As Associate Dean of Spiritual and Religious Life, Terra builds dialogues across campus, provide spiritual care to the students, staff and faculty, and also brings a presence that strengthens the ideals of inclusivity and collaboration.  With a grounded nature and firm grasp of what makes up an ethical commitment, Terra's experience both within and beyond the Lawrence community make her an asset in any environment.
Sign up for childcare online HERE or at the Sign Up Spot at the Fellowship. We need at least one child signed up 24 hours in advance in order to have childcare.
Trauma Compassionate Congregation Training
Wednesday, April 10; 6:00 – 8:00 pm
Join us as the Fellowship continues to learn about how to be trauma compassionate, as individuals and as a community. Get an overview of trauma-informed care, reflect on the process, and be introduced to the toolkit that a group of 13 local agencies has developed for our journey to understanding trauma and creating compassionate, welcoming environments. This is a unique opportunity to pilot a new United Way program for congregations!
If you weren’t able to attend the first training, come to this one anyway! Some helpful (but not required) background can be found HERE.
This is the second training led by UW-Madison Division of Extension’s Human Development and Relationships Educator Mandi Dornfeld, who’s been a part of the Trauma-Informed Care group since its beginning in 2015.
55, Underemployed and Faking Normal by Elizabeth White: New Book Group Opportunity
“For the millions of people in their fifties and sixties who find themselves out of work, unable to find a job, and financially incapable of retiring, here’s a practical plan for getting past any blame or shame, overcoming denial, and finding a path to a new normal.” --Simon and Schuster book description
Fellowship member Bridget Kramer is forming a group (max of 6 people) to read and discuss this book. The importance of this topic is great: people who are unemployed or underemployed often hide in the shadows, afraid of the stigma that occurs when we feel alone in this journey. The group will determine when to meet and for how many sessions. Know your story will be kept sacred and we will come away with new tools for resiliency and ideas on how to move forward.
Contact Bridget Kramer at bridgetkramer5@gmail.com if you are interested in joining this group.
UU101
April 11, 18, 25; 6-8:00 pm
Facilitated by Rev. Christina Leone-Tracy, Rev. Leah Hart-Landsberg, and Marie Luna, Director of Congregational Life
This class is especially helpful for newcomers to the Fellowship and new members, though anyone who hasn’t taken it before is encouraged to attend. We offer information about our history, governance, programs, and liberal faith. This class is a wonderful opportunity to engage with new people, learn about the Fellowship and get to know others in the Fellowship community. Contact Cyndi Polakowski at cyndi@fvuuf.org to sign up.

Helping Hands: Family Community Service Group Potluck
Sunday, April 14th; after last service
Has your family been trying to find the time or opportunity to give back to our community? Do you want to have deeper, more meaningful connections with the families in our Fellowship? Maybe you have found great volunteering opportunities but the littlest of your littles are not allowed to attend. Well look no further! The Fellowship is starting a service group oriented towards people of all ages where our children can help to make our community a better place. Come for some fellowship and to learn more at the Family Community Service Group Potluck. All are welcome! Please contact Julie Handwerker (julie4602@new.rr.com) or Amanda Kramp (amandapkramp@gmail.com) with questions and to sign up to bring a dish.
Flower Pot Essential Needs Drive
The Shared Sanctuary Ministry Team and Essentials: Food and Shelter for All Justice Action Ministry are once again partnering with Unidos por un Futuru Mejor, a local immigrants rights and education group. Our April Flower Pot Essential Needs Drive will be a follow up to the Fellowship Mitten Wreath project in December, which supplied warm winter gear and holiday gifts to over 30 families supported by Unidos por un Futuru Mejor, and was a great success!
From April 7 to April 21, we will have flower pots set up in the Fellowship Hall with blooming paper “flowers." Please plan on picking one or more paper flowers, which will request gift cards for specific retailers to help immigrant families purchase essential personal supplies. Donated gift cards are due at the Fellowship by April 28.
The Flower Pot Essential Needs Drive is replacing our participation in the annual Help for the Homeless Hygiene Drive operated by The Family Radio, partly because we’ve learned The Family’s drive does not support all people in need. Contact Marie Luna, director of congregational life, at marie@fvuuf.org with questions.
Fellowship Passover Seder
Join us for a community Passover Seder at the Fellowship on Saturday, April 20 at 5:00 pm. A traditionally Jewish celebration open to people of all ages and religious backgrounds, this festive evening of music, worship, fellowship, and feasting will celebrate freedom, spring, and the story of the Exodus through an interactive service and shared meal. We will again have a special collection. As always, we will need many people to assist with the meal prep and to donate food for the dinner. Contact Jaclyn Kottman at jaclyn.f.kottman@gmail.com for more information or to help.
