The Clemson United Way campaign will hold a drop-in event today from 1-3 p.m. in the team meeting room at Doug Kingsmore Stadium. Meet Clemson Baseball coach Erik Bakich, enjoy refreshments from Aramark, grab United Way swag and learn more about the United Way.

Dhaval R. Gajjar from the Nieri Department of Construction and Real Estate Development and Weichiang Pang from the Glenn Department of Civil Engineering have been appointed to distinguished professorships named for Wilbur O. “Billy” and Ann W. Powers.

A team led by bioengineering alumnus Lee Sierad, in collaboration with Harriet and Jerry Dempsey Professor of Bioengineering Dan Simionescu, is developing a heart valve for newborns that could expand as the child grows — possibly replacing multiple surgeries with a single operation.
