New 2022 Oregon Structural Specialty Code and Oregon Mechanical Specialty Code editions took effect Oct. 1

Previous codes from 2019 will be phased out as of April 1, 2023. Please take note.

Portland Permit Metric Dashboard updated

As part of the City of Portland’s permitting improvement efforts, a new online dashboard provides greater transparency into the development review process by illustrating numbers of permits and average timeframes in different phases of this process.

Portland welcomes its new Building Official

Matt Rozzell is the City of Portland’s new Building Official as of Dec. 22.

Access to electric vehicle charging stations in new multi-family development to increase with proposal headed to City Council

Portlanders are invited to testify online via the Map App or at a public hearing on Wednesday, Jan. 25, at 2 p.m.

New reductions in parking mandates now in effect for certain developments

The Oregon Department of Land Conservation and Development developed climate-friendly rules to meet Oregon’s climate pollution reduction targets while providing more housing and transportation choices and improving equity. The Bureau of Development Services is implementing these allowances as of Jan. 1, 2023, until the Portland Zoning Code is amended to align with the state rules.
