The Commercially Sexually Exploited-Identification Tool (CSE-IT, pronounced “See It”) is a research-based, validated screening tool that helps improve the early identification of commercially sexually exploited youth (CSEY). Texas CASA created two new CSE-IT resources for CASA staff and volunteers: the CSE-IT Guide and CSE-IT Explained for Volunteers Testifying in Court. You can access both new resources in the Anti-Child Trafficking (ACT) program portal page below.

Recruitment Bounty: Tip of the Month
June is a month with a lot to celebrate – Father’s Day, Pride Month and Juneteenth! Which one can your program focus on to help diversify your volunteer base? For Father’s Day, attend an event with a large presence of men, perhaps a local rodeo or men’s fellowship gathering. For Pride Month, grab some swag and attend a festival or parade. For Juneteenth, work with leaders to get involved with community events. Remember, bringing awareness to the CASA mission is an integral part of recruitment!

With the goal of expanding the CASA network to better represent the demographics and experiences of youth in care, Texas CASA created a toolkit to help programs share the importance of spreading awareness of the CASA mission and recruiting within the LGBTQ+ community. Also in the toolkit are resources and tips to help programs create a welcoming environment for all. In preparation for Pride Month in June, we welcome you to access the LGBTQ+ Recruitment Toolkit below.
