Dear Parents and Guardians of the Class of 2021,
Please see the commencement information below. Parents who have already paid the $50 graduation fee previously received this information; however, we want to provide this information to everyone. We will still accept the graduation fee next week.
Commencement Information for the Class of 2021

Date & Time:  Thursday, June 10, 2021, 6:30 pm. Graduates should arrive by 5:45 pm.

Location:  Upper School patio, 1777 N. Valley Road, Malvern, PA 19355. Use Entrance C Driveway.

Guests:  Each graduate will be allowed 6 guests. Chairs will be set up in family groupings spread out across the Jarmon Field. Each seat grouping will be marked by a sign with the graduate’s name. Graduates will be seated in spaced rows on the patio.

Invitations & Announcements:  Students will receive six invitations for guests attending the ceremony an additional ten announcements to send to friends or family not invited to the ceremony.

Fees:  $50 due by Friday, June 4. Please send cash or a check (payable to The Vanguard School) in an envelope marked ‘Commencement.’ The graduation fee covers invitations, announcements, diploma cover and cap and gown rental fees.

Rehearsals:  There will be a graduation rehearsal Thursday, June 10 in the afternoon during the regular school day. If your student attends another program off-campus, they will need to arrange to be on campus this day. Do not bring caps and gowns to rehearsal. If your student is virtual, we will brief them on the procedures when they arrive on Thursday evening.

Caps & Gowns:  Graduates will receive their caps and gowns approximately a week before the ceremony. Turn your graduation fee into Ms. Catino or Ms. McDowell in the high school office to pick up your graduation materials. Please make sure that the gowns are wrinkle-free before graduation. The best method to remove wrinkles is to put the gown on a hanger and place it in the vicinity of a hot shower. If you use an iron, please only use very low heat as the gowns are made of synthetic fibers that burn easily. If your student has been virtual, we will have the gowns ironed and ready for you that evening unless you would like to make arrangements to pick them up.  Caps and gowns must be returned to the senior class advisors at the end of the graduation evening.

Ceremony:  The ceremony will begin promptly at 6:30 pm. Graduates must arrive no later than 5:45 pm to get ready.

Questions:  Please call a Senior Class Advisor at 610.296.6700/ Teresa McNulty Hight x235 or
Beverly Wilson x237.

We look forward to seeing you during commencement
and offer our congratulations and best wishes on a job well done!
