Health Care Hero

Congratulations to Penny Bloom, who's been named a 2026 Health Care Hero by the Rochester Business Journal. Penny is the Nursing Services Manager for our OPWDD residential programs. She oversees care and is a fierce advocate for individuals who live in our 13 residences for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Penny will be honored at a special Health Care Hero awards event in March.

CCFCS Welcomes New Bishop

Our warmest welcome to The Most Rev. John S. Bonnici, who will be installed as the 10th bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Rochester in a special mass at Sacred Heart Cathedral on March 19th. Bonnici succeeds Bishop Salvatore Matano, who is retiring after 12 years of faithful service. We share Bishop Bonnici's commitment to serve all people with love and compassion, and we look forward to his stewardship.

CCFCS Game Night at the Rochester Amerks

What a thrill it was to be the charity of choice at the Rochester Amerks Game on February 27th! During the game, CCFCS President and CEO Lori VanAuken and our Development and Outreach teams engaged with countless hockey fans. Best of all, a portion of ticket sales was donated to CCFCS. This promotion was made possible by Toshiba Business Solutions, a major sponsor of the Amerks. Two members of the CCFCS Agency Council, John McBride and Jackie Benedetto, work for Toshiba and engineered this great opportunity for CCFCS.
