Welcome to the November edition of the SOLVE-CHD monthly updates 2025. This monthly e-newsletter will keep you up to date with the key progress of the SOLVE-CHD projects and provide updates on our events and initiatives. Simply 
email solve-chd.info@sydney.edu.au if you wish to share/add anything from your area that is directly/indirectly related to the SOLVE-CHD program. We would also strongly encourage you to share your research highlights and successes that is relevant to cardiac rehabilitation and secondary prevention with us so that we can celebrate your achievements with our network. 
New Partnership with Hearts4Heart - Strengthening Consumer Engagement and Cardiac Research
We are thrilled to announce a new formal partnership between SOLVE-CHD and Hearts4Heart, marking an important step forward in our shared mission to empower consumers, promote heart health, and advance world-class cardiac research and advocacy nationwide.
This collaboration will open doors to exciting opportunities, including:
  • Collaborative Promotion: Sharing research, advocacy, and education through our websites, newsletters, and social media.
  • Consumer Engagement: Creating pathways for consumers to contribute to research design, recruitment, and dissemination.
  • Joint Activities: Participating in events, webinars, and workshops to raise awareness and support heart health.
Together, we can make a greater impact for those living with heart disease.

Australian Cardiac Rehabilitation (CR) Quality Initiative Update
The Australian CR Quality Initiative continues to progress strongly. As of August 2025, more than 150 ACRA-funded members have completed the ICCPR Cardiovascular Rehabilitation Foundations Certification (CRFC).
At the ACRA ASM 2025, the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program Excellence Initiative was also launched. This new initiative recognises and celebrates CR programs across Australia that are delivering high-quality care.

SOLVE-CHD is proud to support our partner Hearts4Heart alongside Heartbeat of Sport and FH Australia for Cholesterol Awareness Week 2025.
Too often called the “silent disease”, high cholesterol can go unnoticed yet significantly increases the risk of ASCVD. That’s why we stand with Hearts4Heart in empowering Australians to be Alert to the risks, Build healthy behaviours, and Check their cholesterol levels -  the ABCs of ASCVD. With free cholesterol checks available in Adelaide and educational events across the country, this campaign is a vital step toward improving prevention, early detection, and heart health literacy. Together, we are committed to advancing heart health awareness, advocacy, and equitable access to care for all Australians. Call for Papers! Heart Lung and Circulation Special Issue - Deadline Extended
Heart, Lung and Circulation is excited to present a special issue on the evolving landscape of contemporary cardiac rehabilitation and secondary prevention. This special issue will focus on innovative program delivery methods, emerging technologies, workforce, and health equity challenges. We invite researchers, clinicians and healthcare professionals to submit original research articles, focused research reports, and reviews.
Submissions are open until 6 April 2025
