Want to support the Academic Resource Center and your peers? Apply to be an Information Assistant (IA) for Spring 2026! IAs staff the ARC front desk, support ARC drop-in tutoring sessions and events, promote and improve ARC services, and develop professional skills.

Reminder: Study Away Application Deadline

If you are interested in applying for studying away in Fall 2026 or the 2026-2027 Academic year, please submit your interest form by 11:59 PM, January 15, 2026, EST. Students who wait until after this deadline will be considered on a rolling basis as space and immigration restrictions allow. Contact your advisor if you have any questions.

Call for Application: First-Year Fellowship Circle Spring 2026

Pioneered in 2023, the First-Year Fellowship Circle connects a small group of first-year students with a diverse group of peer fellows and a faculty mentor in their field of interest. Through one-on-one mentorship, students will gain the research and writing skills to develop a proposal for a project or initiative.

Gates Cambridge (December 3, 2025 or January 7, 2026, see Course Directory)
Erasmus Mundus (Master's scholarships in Europe, varying deadlines. For details, see Program Directory)
Amgen Scholars (Biotech research for all years and citizenships, due on February 1, 2026)
Marc and Ruti Bell's Scholarship (February 13, 2026)
Intercultural Learning (Applications for Fall 2026 will go live in January 2026)
Humanity in Action (Summer program in human and minority rights, applications for Fall 2026 will go live soon)

IT Information

Weekly Tech Reminders: Stay Safe and Updated!

A well-maintained device is your first line of defense against security risks. Don't drag your feet—consistent updates significantly reduce vulnerabilities for you and the university network.

Reboot & Update: Restart your computer regularly. A simple reboot is the important part to complete critical security patches and operating system updates.
Don't Delay OS Upgrades: If your operating system (Windows/macOS) has a major upgrade available, schedule time to complete it. Older systems are a prime target for attacks.
Act on Notifications: If you receive a notification from the IT Center or an IT security system, please take action or contact the Help Desk at shanghai.it.help@nyu.edu immediately.
Avoid "Dragging Time": Delaying necessary maintenance or updates significantly increases the risk of both hardware failure and critical security breaches.
