Dear Division Colleagues,
For many of us, summer is an opportune time to focus on special projects. This noted, the Spotlight editorial team is going to take a couple of months to reimagine this bi-weekly newsletter to make it even more engaging, informative, useful, and as fun as possible. We may even reach out to some of you to provide us with some meaningful feedback to shape our direction. There will still be issues this summer, but the content will be sparse and will primarily have information and reminders regarding division-wide events.

Mark your calendars and join us for the fourth annual Student Life Summer Social. To celebrate the hard work and accomplishments of this past academic year, let’s gather together and have some fun and fellowship. We’ll have a Texas barbecue lunch in the Barfield Drawing Room in the Bill Daniel Student Center (aka The SUB), along with finals for our competitive games (cornhole, pickleball, and 3v3 basketball) in nearby Marrs-McLean Gym. We’ll also have board games, cards, and something fun for everyone. Please plan on dressing casually.
To help with numbers for lunch and set up for the activities, if you plan on attending, we ask that you please RSVP using the survey link BELOW. You can also indicate any dietary restrictions in the survey. By indicating your attendance, we can better ensure that there’s enough food for all (accepting the Outlook Calendar invitation is not considered an RSVP.) We hope to see you there and we look forward to summer fun together!

SL Employment Opportunities – We are entering hiring season, and we have a number of positions that will become available over the next few months. While these jobs will be posted online, ultimately we believe YOU are the best recruiters and we would love your help recruiting future colleagues!
|
New Staff Form – Please help us keep our mailing list up-to-date so that all Student Life staff can receive important updates and event invitations. Just a reminder that we have a form for you to submit information about new hires so they can be added to the staff mailing list. We encourage you to use this for GA's and interns as well.

On May 1, the Student Leadership Development team hosted an Epilogue Dinner honoring graduates from the inaugural cohort for the Certificate in Experiential Leadership! The evening presented students with an opportunity to share their reflections on meaningful experiences throughout their time at Baylor, personal philosophies of leadership, and how they’re connecting both to their vocational aspirations moving forward. Each graduate was presented with a certificate and cords to commemorate their accomplishments and their significant investment in our campus community!
Special Shout Out to colleagues who supported the evening by facilitating table conversations: Andre Baesa, Matt Hintzgolou, Anna Jane Vancour, and Sarah Harris.

Nominate a Shout Out – In an effort to recognize and celebrate the good work performed by our dedicated Division of Student Life staff in a timely way, Spotlight Shoutout highlights staff who have gone above and beyond the scope of regular duties in a way that had substantive, positive impact on others and/or whose level of excellence in a particular program or initiative was exemplary. You may nominate any staff member within the division using THIS FORM.

Above: A big Thank You to all of the Student Life staff who volunteered for our inaugural Line to Legacy event for Baylor Seniors. A special thanks to those of you who were on the committee and put in hours of sweaty work at the stadium on the day of the event!
