COVID-19 Grant Opportunities Available For Initiatives That Support Women And Girls
The Women’s Fund of Central New York invites grant applications from nonprofit organizations whose primary focus is to address key issues affecting women and girls in Central New York. For the 2020 grant round, all Women's Fund grants are focused on working with residents who are disproportionately impacted by the coronavirus (COVID-19) and the economic consequences of this outbreak.
Nonprofit charitable organizations determined as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the US Internal Revenue Code (IRS), that provide services directly to women and girls in Onondaga, Cayuga, Madison and/or Oswego counties, are eligible to apply for a grant award. Grant applications are now being accepted on a rolling basis with no grant application deadline.
Grants are intended to help our community respond to the challenges caused by the pandemic by addressing the basic needs of members of our communities. Funds will be released on a rolling basis as fundraising continues throughout the outbreak and recovery phases of the crisis. Because this is an evolving situation, these will be rapid-response, short-term grants (up to 4 weeks of funding) that may be renewable based on ongoing need and available resources. Grants are meant to cover one month of expenses.
Grants are limited to 501(c)3 organizations, fiscal sponsors or other charitable organizations able to receive tax-deductible contributions such as schools, faith-based organizations and other public entities.
Applicants are asked to demonstrate potential to:
1. Address a Basic Need (such as food, housing, childcare, etc.)
2. Serve vulnerable populations (especially in underserved neighborhoods)
3. Commit to documenting services provided and impact
Renewed funding, if it becomes available, will be based on the organization’s ability to provide services and document impact.
Both current grantees of the above-mentioned funds and new applicants are eligible to apply.
Services not eligible for funding at this time include: arts, animal welfare, environment, medical testing, and staff retention.
Organizations must submit their applications using the online grant application.
