January 1 Happy New Year! May 2025 be a year that sees many drawn closer to the Lord and walk in a right relationship with Him. Thank YOU for your prayer support of the work and mission of Sterling College.
Pray for President Scott Rich as he leads Sterling College into this new year.
Praise the Lord for our wonderful Sterling College alumni. We give thanks for the lives spent in serving Christ and others.
As 2025 begins, pray that this will be a year of great unity, on and off campus, amongst faculty, staff, administration, students, Board of Trustees, alumni, parents of students, and friends of the college.
Scripture focus: Philippians 2:1-4 "If, then, there is any encouragement in Christ, if any consolation of love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, 2 make my joy complete by thinking the same way, having the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose. 3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility consider others as more important than yourselves. 4 Everyone should look not to his own interests, but rather to the interests of others."
Pray for our transfer students that will join our family this semester. Transitions are hard, and it can be challenging to dive in “midstream.” Pray for our campus community to be welcoming and helpful to these students.
Today, both men's and women's Warrior basketball travel to McPherson to take on the Central Christian Tigers. Pray that the Warriors will represent the Lord and Sterling well.
Thank the Lord for His grace...not giving us what we do deserve, and His mercy...giving us that which we do not deserve. His love for us is unfathomable, unsearchable, and unchanging. Thanks be to God!
Pray for our seniors who will be beginning their last semester at Sterling College. Pray that God will help them finish well and that He will prepare their hearts for the next chapter in their lives.
Forgiveness is not always easy. Actually, for most, it is very difficult to forgive someone who has hurt us or our loved ones. Pray for any in our Warrior Family who struggles with forgiveness. Pray that the Lord would give them strength, by His Holy Spirit, to forgive and remind them of the Apostle Paul’s words in Colossians 3:13, “Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.”
All indoor track and field and basketball student-athletes are in competition today. Pray that they compete at the highest levels that their God-given skills allow, and that they honor Him in all they say and do.
Scripture focus: I Peter 3:8 "Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind."
As students are traveling back to campus from Christmas break, pray for safe travel, peace in leaving home, and positive anticipation for all that the Spring semester will hold.
Spring semester classes begin today. Ask the Lord to move in the hearts and minds of students and faculty to have peace and joy throughout the semester.
Today, lift up Board of Trustees member, Peter Teague '73, as he celebrates his birthday. Thank the Lord for Peter and his commitment to serve Sterling College.
We are so very grateful for all of our donors, who, through their generosity, help to further the work and mission of Sterling College. Pray that the Lord will continue to cause thousands of alumni and friends to find generosity in their hearts towards SC.
Several Sterling College students will be student teaching this semester. Pray that they will enjoy this aspect of their education as they continue to learn how to be effective educators.
Pray for students and parents that visit Sterling College this semester, that their time on campus will clearly reveal to them if SC is where they should attend college. Pray that the Lord provides just the right number of students for academic year 2025-26.
Scripture focus: Romans 15:6 "That together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ."
Ask God for the entire Warrior family to increase in “Servant Leadership,” truly living this core component of what it means to be an SC Warrior. May we be prompted to do so by the reminder in Mark 10:45, “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.”
Today, thank the Lord for His provision in your life and for His perfect love.
Thank the Lord today for Glennys (Gilmore) Doane '73, member of the Sterling College Board of Trustees, as she celebrates her birthday. Ask the Lord to bless Glennys in some very special ways.
Pray that we all will be open to God’s will and calling in each of our lives on a day-to-day basis.
Ask God to pour His perfect peace and true joy into the lives of our students and employees.
The Sterling College coaches invest heavily in the lives of our student-athletes. Pray that the coaches will be solid examples of God's love, patience, and joy.
Scripture focus: I Corinthians 1:10 "I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment."
Leadership is always challenging. Pray for the leadership of Sterling College — the Board of Trustees, chaired by Randy Henry, and for the Executive Cabinet, led by President Scott Rich. Pray for wisdom and discernment as they navigate all that is involved in leading a Christian institution of higher learning.
Pray for our Advancement Office, to work by the power of the Holy Spirit with faithfulness and fruitfulness, to accomplish our fundraising goals.
College is a time of spiritual learning and growth for our students. Pray that relationships with God will continue to grow and be strengthened.
Praise God for the scholarships that SC is able to offer to students, allowing more to attend classes here.
As the first month of 2025 draws to an end, pray for the coming weeks and months of this Spring semester, that our students are challenged with academic vigor and drawn into a right and stronger relationship with the Lord.
