Halloween or Christmas?

Submitted by Calumet 4-H Reporter Howard S.

It was a dark and stormy night when masked and socially distanced Calumet 4-H members met for their annual Halloween dress-up night.  Members were awarded prizes for Best Hair, Best Dressed, Fastest, and more!  Members concluded the evening by creating ornaments to be quarantined then shared at Villa Loretta.  We hope to be approved for an outdoor holiday window tour at Villa Loretta in December to spread some holiday cheer!

Cloverbud Pumpkin Contest

The Cloverbud Pumpkin Contest looked very different this year.  4 Cloverbuds participated in the contest.  The Cloverbuds took all the measurements at home and then reported the weight, height, and circumference when they registered their pumpkins.
Elijah from Calumet 4-H club was awarded the tallest pumpkin.
Natalie from Welcome 4-H club was awarded the largest circumference
Jeb from Taft 23 4-H Club was awarded the largest overall pumpkin.
Landon from Alto All-Stars 4-H club was awarded the most unusual shape.
Congratulations to all of our Cloverbud participants and we look forward to next year's contest!

4-H Family Learning Day

We are seeking volunteers and youth for the Family Learning Day committee.  Due to Covid, we may need to reimagine how Family Learning Day looks for 2021.  We are seeking volunteers and youth who have creative ideas! If interested in helping plan Family Learning Day 2021, please contact Tracy at tracy.keifenheim@wisc.edu or 608-265-2058.  The committee will be holding its first meeting in late November.

Holiday Parades

With Holiday parade season around the corner, please take the time to read through the Wisconsin 4-H Parade Policy. The policy can be found at the link below. Wisconsin 4-H is committed to providing safe and healthy environments for youth and adults participating in 4-H programs and activities. Preparing floats and participating in parades can be a fun way to promote 4-H, AND there are risks associated with these activities. The 4-H Parades Policy outlines expectations for managing risk associated with vehicles used in parades, as well as youth and adults riding on vehicles or walking in the parade. Please if you have any questions reach out to Tracy at tracy.keifenheim@wisc.edu or 608-265-2058.

If you have youth in grade 6+ in your family, can you please take five minutes and answer some questions in a short survey to help with the planning process? Please complete the survey by November 11. Thanks in advance for your help!
