A member of the Walsh community for 20 years, beginning in 1999 as a student and transitioning to professional staff in 2004, Vice President for Student Affairs Bryan Badar will be leaving the University to pursue a new professional opportunity. Chief of Staff Dr. Rachel Hosler has graciously agreed to assume additional responsibilities as our Interim Vice President, providing executive oversight for the Office of Student Affairs. Dr. Hosler, also a two-time Walsh alum, has 20 years of experience in higher education with extensive knowledge and involvement in student development and experiential learning. She will also continue leading cross-enterprise collaborative efforts as a Cabinet member to further advance our mission as a leader in Catholic higher education and Walsh 4.0 initiatives.

Join Multicultural Affairs today, Wednesday, Feb. 15, in engaging minority businesses serving Stark County at the David Center Atrium from 11:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. You’ll learn about businesses and their contributions to the spirit of entrepreneurship within the community and how to get involved with local community agencies.

Students seeking an internship or employment in Stark County are invited to attend the Greater Canton Collegiate Interview Day from 1-5 p.m., on Friday, Feb. 24, at the Kent State Stark Conference Center, co-hosted by Walsh University, for the chance to meet with recruiters from several regional businesses. Courtney Jeans, intervention specialist, North Canton City Schools, contributed to an article in the February edition of Akron & Canton Special Needs Living Magazine about her role working with Walsh University in the Transition U program. Transition U is designed for students ages 18-22 with cognitive/multiple exceptionalities who have completed social graduation with North Canton City Schools. This unique collaboration between Walsh University’s School of Arts, Sciences and Education and North Canton City Schools allows participants to have a real college experience with their same-age peers, from matriculation to receiving a college ID.  Read More:  (pages 48-49)
