Up to 40% of companies affected by disaster never reopen.
Will yours be one?

OSHA tells us that up to 40% of all businesses affected by natural or human-caused disaster never resume business. Just as worrying is the fact that employees at one half of U.S. companies do not believe that their company is prepared for a disaster, according to the Society for Human Resource Management.
Tornadoes, hurricanes, fires, earthquakes—even disgruntled former employees—all pose risks to your business. An emergency action plan is a critical tool to help reduce your vulnerability. Thinking through the practical considerations in advance means you are prepared should the worst happen:
  • How do we determine if all of our employees have safely evacuated the building?
  • Which employees are responsible for directing people to exits and accounting for them afterward?
  • Who should attend to essential operations during the emergency?
  • What about contact after the event?
C&F Risk Engineering offers a sample Emergency Action Plan, as well as a comprehensive guide to help create your own.
