MUCAT Design Competition Kick Off Meeting Wed Sep 14 Benton Hall Lobby
The Miami University Center for Assistive Technology (MUCAT), in collaboration with  the Leaving it Better Initiative, will be hosting its annual Design Innovation Competition, which allows teams of undergraduate students to develop technologies that improve quality of life.

In this competition, teams work to develop a solution to a problem in line with the competition theme of "Assistive Technology for neurological and/or orthopedic disabilities." Five to six teams are to be selected as finalists and provided up to $500 to develop a prototype of their solution.

                 Individuals interested in participating in this competition should join
the Competition Kickoff meeting on Wed Sep 14th, from 5:30-6:60 PM in the Benton Hall Lobby.
We will discuss the competition guidelines and enjoy some pizza! Please also complete the general information survey. After completing this survey, we will add you to the MUCAT Canvas page, where you can join a team if you have one or use the discussion boards to explore project ideas with others. Need help forming a team? Contact Dr. Chagdes (chagdejr@miamioh.edu) to get help with finding others with similar interests.

You can share your thoughts and learn about other ideas at the competition kickoff meeting   on Wed, Sep 14th at 5:30 PM or the Idea Exchange on Mon, Sep 19th at 5:30 PM   If you have friends in a different major that you think might be interested, please share this email and ask them to complete the general information survey. We will add to the Competition Canvas site to use the discussion board to meet others interested and register by signing up for a project group.

(DUOS) Doctoral Undergraduate Opportunity for Scholarship Program
Mon Oct 17 Online Application Deadline Call for Student Proposals 
The DUOS program bridges the gap between graduate and undergraduate research at Miami University. The undergraduate student and graduate student pair will work together on a research project under the supervision of a faculty member in a Ph.D. granting department. DUOS is open to any undergraduate student and any post-master’s doctoral student in good standing who agree to abide by program requirements.  Read the DUOS Program Guidelines.

(URA) Undergraduate Research Award Program
Mon Oct 17 Online Application Deadline  Call for Student Proposals
Undergraduate Research Award (URA) Program for Miami Undergraduates to develop a grant application requesting funding to support a faculty-mentored undergraduate research experience. These mentor/student partnerships encourage discovery, creative activity and/or novel, inquiry-based activity. Students must find a Miami faculty member willing to mentor an independent research project. Review the URA Program Guidelines carefully for application preparation and submission details.

Oct 5, 2022 Application Deadline for Spring 2023 Internship DOE Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internships (SULI)
SULI is open to full-time students attending 4-year institutions and community colleges or recent graduates within two years of receiving their bachelor’s degree. SULI Interns work directly with National Laboratory scientists and engineers, assisting them on research or technology projects that support the DOE mission. SULI is a stipend-based and is offered three times annually in Fall, Spring, and Summer terms.

SOURCE is a place for students with any level of experience to come together and learn from each other, make connections, and share their ideas.
