Dear Colleagues,
We are writing to provide you with an important update on the myTIME project, Stony Brook University’s campus-wide initiative aimed at bringing a modern, paperless approach to time reporting. Since our last update, a great deal of work has been completed behind-the-scenes, including the identification of a new, and more favorable path towards implementation.
Bringing myTIME’s Project Scope into WolfieONE As many of you know, WolfieONE, Stony Brook’s transformative campus-wide project designed to replace many of our financial and HR systems currently used on campus, kicked off in September of last year. After launch, our internal teams began to map out numerous end-to-end business processes, and imagine what our University’s future state might look like, including our time and attendance needs. As we began to meet with Oracle (the software that will power WolfieONE), and our implementation partner Deloitte, we learned that building our time and attendance system into WolfieONE would allow for better data integration and increased efficiencies. Rather than having to build a bridge connecting WolfieONE with a separate time and attendance system (powered by a separate software), the process can be streamlined, and our desired time and attendance functionality can be built directly into the WolfieONE system.
After consultation with leadership, and in response to feedback from stakeholders, we have decided to focus our efforts on bringing time and attendance functions within the WolfieONE project scope. We believe that this change in direction keeps us accountable to the principles guiding our WolfieONE project, particularly our goals to establish a single source of truth for institutional data where applicable, and to optimize our operations and processes. We also anticipate that this decision will lead to a more successful time and attendance upgrade.
Thank You We remain grateful for the significant investment of time and energy that so many across Stony Brook have made thus far on the myTIME project, and look forward to the many benefits that a new time and attendance system will bring as part of the WolfieONE project.
Visit the WolfieONE website for timeline and updates, and watch for our monthly WolfieONE eNewsletter which contains project updates informing the campus community of progress on this initiative.
Sincerely, Jed M. Shivers Senior Vice President Finance & Administration
Jennifer L. Donnelly Interim Vice President Human Resource Services
