Call for Presenters and Exhibitors
|
The LASTEM Summit is an annual conference whose goal is to strengthen PK-16 STEM education (K to Grey!) throughout Louisiana and the nation. The LASTEM Summit will take place on October 9, 2024 - and it is FREE to attend!
The initial 'Call for Presenters' application window will close on 3/22/24 at 5 pm CST.
'Call for Exhibitors' (including those with mobile STEM units) application window will close on 8/1/24 at 5 pm CST or when capacity is maximized.

Architecture Camp is an exciting chance for high school students entering grades 10-12 to explore the world of architecture. This one week residential camp is sponsored by the LSU School of Architecture and the College of Art & Design. Get a taste of college life and live on the LSU Campus. Explore architectural ideas through hands-on studios and field trips. Attend seminars and lectures; participate in critiques. The Carol Meyer Scholarship Awards
|
In Carol's memory, the Louisiana Association of Teachers of Mathematics is pleased to award two $500.00 scholarships each year to college upperclassmen with a declared major in elementary education, mathematics education, or mathematics. In addition to the scholarship, the awardees shall receive complimentary LATM student memberships.
Requirements:
1) College undergraduate with at least 40 hours completed
2) Declared major in elementary education, mathematics education, or mathematics
3) Anticipated graduation date after May 2024
4) Attend a Louisiana University
Applications must be submitted by April 26, 2024.

Aviation Day in Baton Rouge

Join the Capitol City Composite Squadron in Baton Rouge on Saturday, March 9th from 1pm-3pm for the Aviation Day & Open House. Come learn about aviation, aerospace, emergency services, and leadership! There will be STEM activities for youths, free STEM kits for your classrooms, and much more! Volunteer registration is now open for AgMagic – Baton Rouge March 13-27th. AgMagic Baton Rouge allows youth the opportunity to explore and learn about agriculture and the environment, as well as the vital role each plays in our daily lives. Volunteers are necessary for making AgMagic possible and are needed before, after, and throughout the event in multiple capacities, including event set-up, event management, and exhibit breakdown.

MaKey MaKey 101 for Educators

Come join the Knock Knock Children’s Museum where Cate Heroman, nationally recognized author, and Knock Knock’s Learning Innovation staff, all certified MaKey MaKey trainers, will lead you through a series of fun-filled, hands-on experiences that will easily translate to everyday classroom practice. Each participant will receive a MaKey MaKey Classic kit valued at $50 and the book, Doll-E 101 by Shanda McCloskey. Participants must bring a charged laptop and a USB adapter. Certificates will be given for those needing Pathways professional development credit.

State Rally is Coming Up!

The Louisiana High School Rally Association (LHSRA) is a voluntary, non-profit, educational association of middle and junior units of a school (i.e. 8-12 grades in a K-12 school or ninth grade centers), home schools, and senior high schools that are recognized by the State Department of Louisiana and the colleges and universities that coordinate the district and state competitions each year.
