On November 5, IVC hosted its annual First-Generation College Student Celebration honoring the achievements, resilience, and pride of IVC’s first-generation student community. This year’s program emphasized the importance of persistence and completion in math and English, with engaging activities hosted by the Math and Writing Centers to encourage connection with key academic support services. Honoring Veterans Through Shared Experience and Service |
IVC kicked off its annual Veterans Day Celebration on November 6, bringing the campus together to honor the courage, service, and everyday impact of our veterans. Keynote speaker Brent Theobald—a Marine Corps Force Recon veteran—shared his journey from active duty to championing student veterans. IVC's award-winning Model United Nations (MUN) team achieved national recognition at the National Model United Nations Conference in Washington, D.C., held November 5–9. Competing among top universities and colleges from around the world, IVC students earned an impressive collection of honors including two Outstanding Delegation Awards, two Position Paper Awards, and the rare distinction of chairing three committees. Men's Soccer Team Captures Orange Empire Conference Title |
Irvine Valley's men's soccer team won the Orange Empire Conference title on Friday afternoon, defeating Golden West, 3-2, in a thrilling match in LeBard Stadium at Orange Coast College. The Lasers and the Rustlers used the artificial turf at OCC due to the heavy off and on rain.

Former IVC Student Well Poised for Success |
Caitlyn DeJesus’s love of numbers and logic ultimately laid the groundwork for her career path. The former IVC Honors student transferred to University of Southern California’s (USC) Marshall School of Business after a course taught by IVC professor Don Bradshaw piqued her interest in the field of accounting. “Dr. Bradshaw’s Financial Accounting class really caught my attention,” she says. “Then after taking six exams in his class and performing well on all of them I realized accounting resonated with me, specifically because it is systemic and logical,” she said.
