Homeowner Spotlight: Teneshia

When you ask Teneshia what she finds frustrating about her current living situation, she has a one-word answer: “Everything." Next month, she will close on a brand-new, energy-efficient Habitat home with an affordable mortgage.

“This home represents a legacy for my family, persistence, dedication, and dreams fulfilled,” she said. “This home will change my life because I will finally have a place to call my own.”

Edy closed on her home in Silver Pines Pointe last week. Our staff cheered her on as she rang the "Sound of Success" bell at Habitat HQ.

She said her new home will help her feel safe and secure because she won't have to worry about rising rents or landlords not renewing her lease. "The most important (change) will be that I am investing in a home that will be mine," she said.
