The Class of 2023 graduation ceremony will be available for live stream and post-ceremony viewing. The live stream will begin 5 minutes prior to the ceremony start time. Share the live streaming link with loved ones near or far.
Reminder About Your GradPass
The day of the ceremony, please make sure you arrive at the venue by 11:00 AM (1) wearing your academic attire and (2) with your GradPass readily available on your mobile device or printed. Your Gradpass was emailed to you when you registered for the ceremony through the Marching Order website.

Post On Social Media #NYUSilverGrads
We invite graduates and loved ones to upload photos and congratulatory messages using our special hashtag #NYUSilverGrads via Instagram and Twitter. Make sure your profile is public for a chance to be featured on the social media wall on our
graduation ceremony program and on the screen at United Palace.
Have Your Devices Ready
We encourage you to arrive with your phone fully charged and/or bring a portable power bank so you can engage with our Social Media Wall (using #NYUSilverGrads from public Instagram feeds and Twitter accounts), view our
Class of 2023 Ceremony website, and use your GradPass (if not printed) without worrying about your battery running out of power.
Graduate and Guest Arrival Times
- Graduates must arrive at the venue by 11:00 AM
- Doors open for your guests with accessibility needs ONLY at 11:45 AM. This includes family members who are older and could use some additional time to get to their seats.
- Doors open for all guests at 12:00 PM
Mask-Wearing Is Welcomed
Though there is no longer a universal mask mandate, many in our community will make an individual choice to continue to wear masks. As a community, we embrace the choice by friends, classmates, and colleagues to wear a mask and are committed to establishing an atmosphere where masks are always welcomed.
Entry Area
Graduates and guests will line up outside of the main entrance (near West 175th Street & Broadway) under the grand marquee. All graduates and guests must go through metal detectors and a bag check prior to entry per United Palace Theater policy. We strongly encourage you to keep your personal items to a minimum.
What Not to Bring
United Palace is committed to cultivating a safe and enjoyable graduation ceremony experience. The following is a partial list of prohibited items that are not permitted inside the venue. United Palace Management reserves the right to prohibit other items as deemed necessary.
Large bags (larger than 14″ x 14″ x 8″), selfie sticks, professional cameras, video cameras, monopods and tripods, outside food and beverages, helium balloons, cans and bottles, banners and signs, and other items are
not permitted.

Ceremony Information for Graduates
- Academic attire will not be available for purchase or rental on-site.
- Graduates must remain in their seats throughout the entire ceremony, unless otherwise instructed by Silver Staff.
- Each graduate will walk across the stage, have their name read, and be greeted by Dean Lindsey. This greeting can include a hand shake. If for religious or other reasons you wish not to shake hands, just indicate that to Dean Lindsey.
- Personal items (coats, handbags, flowers, etc.) should be left with guests; there is no place to store them in the graduate seating section.
- Following the ceremony, we suggest picking a meeting spot for you and your guests. The plaza outside of the theater will be very crowded after the ceremony.
Ceremony Information for Your Guests
- Each guest, including children who will need a seat, must have a ticket for admittance to United Palace.
- There are no extra tickets available on-site. Only guests who arrive with tickets are guaranteed entry into the Graduation Ceremony.
- Upon entry, your guests will have to show their tickets to United Palace ushers. We recommend your guests either print and/or take a screenshot of their tickets. If you have not yet printed or assigned your ticket(s) to your guests, please do so today.
- Guests must remain in their seats throughout the entire ceremony, unless otherwise instructed by United Palace Staff.
- United Palace does not provide a bag or coat check for guests.
Weather
Silver’s graduation ceremony is an indoor event and takes place rain or shine. Please come prepared if inclement weather is expected, since graduates and guests will be lining up outside prior to entering the theatre.
Transportation and Directions
United Palace is located at 4140 Broadway, New York, NY 10033. New York City offers many transportation options so getting there is easy. Public transportation is highly recommended.
The A, C, and 1 subway lines are nearby. If using Metro-North, take the Hudson River Line to Marble Hill, and a quick transfer to the subway (1 train at 225th Street to 181st or 168th Street).
If traveling by car, please allow ample time in the event of traffic congestion. Parking garages are nearby (at your own cost) for those driving to United Palace. Street parking is available but very limited.
