Fall Harvest Festivals Have Begun! |
Fall is here and we all know what that means....Fall Harvest Festivals have begun! Our FoodCorps Service Members have started working with their classes teaching them all about nutrition and gardening through hands-on lessons. One aspect of their service is the planning of Fall Harvest Festivals for the school community to get out in the garden for a Farm to School event featuring local taste tests, garden activities and scavenger hunts, and more! McKinley School was a success and we are looking forward to many more to come!

Vernon, Avon, Hawthorne, McKinley, Thirteenth, and Harriet Tubman are blessed to have these amazing FoodCorps Service Members at their schools and it has only been one month, and they are already making such big impacts in their school community!

The work that we do would not be possible without the generosity of our donors. While we had to put some of our on-site programs temporarily on hold during the COVID-19 crisis, we are back to normal operations and ramping up a number of programs and activities at our Outdoor Learning Center, the Hawthorne Avenue Urban Farm, school partner gardens, as well as various virtual workshops.
