NATA Supports the Get Game Ready Initiative
To further advocate for the profession, as well as positively impact schools that have had drastic budgets cuts to their athletics programs, NATA is partnering with the Shaquille O’Neal Foundation on its Get Game Ready campaign, which is supported by Icy Hot. Through the Get Game Ready program, the Shaquille O’Neal Foundation will issue up to $400,000 in grants to supply financial assistance to school sports programs in need, while NATA will offer expert guidance aimed at reducing the risk of injuries among high school athletes and mitigating the spread of COVID-19.

Last Chance to Submit Nominations for LGBTQ+ Award for Inclusive Excellence
The LGBTQ+ Award for Inclusive Excellence recognizes ATs who have advanced the provision of health care services and/or contributed to the professional development and advancement of LGBTQ+ athletic trainers or athletic training students. Nominees must be a member of NATA in good standing and have a National Provider Identifier number. Nominations for the 2021 award are open now, and all materials for nominees must be submitted by Oct. 1.

Know a School or District That Eliminated AT Services and Needs Outreach From NATA?
Across the country, youth athletes are at an increased risk of injury and illness in secondary schools where athletic training services have been reduced or eliminated. NATA strives to advocate for the health and safety of youth athletes through the employment of athletic trainers. If you know of any schools or school districts where athletic training services have been eliminated where outreach from NATA is needed, please submit information for NATA review.
