Alto All Stars in Action

Food + Fellowship + 4H. The Alto All-Stars prepared food and served 117 lunches (in 90 minutes!) at the Waupun Community Table. The Community Tables provide a weekly meal for those in need of connection or nourishment. Next up: the All-Stars are preparing for the Alto Fair and invite everyone to swing by on August 6 & 7.

Around the World Camp

This year, for the first year ever, we held an Around the World Camp! Youth spent three days traveling to different countries and continents, exploring their cultures through hands-on activities, games, and art projects.
Day 1: Japan & Greece
Youth began their journey in Japan, where they created Japanese lanterns, learned about volcanoes while making volcano slime, played a fun chopstick game, and designed their own mini Zen gardens. After lunch, they traveled to Greece to explore mosaic art, dive into Greek myths, and compete in Olympic-style games. The day wrapped up with passport stamping and entries in their travel journals.
Day 2: Brazil & Ghana
Day two was all about rainforests! Youth started the morning in Brazil with a soccer game and a LEGO challenge to build rainforest landscapes and wildlife. They also learned about Romero Britto and created their own vibrant pop art. In the afternoon, they traveled to Ghana, where they explored printmaking to create wall hangings, practiced weaving, and crafted their own mancala games. Once again, the day ended with passport stamps and journal reflections.
Day 3: Australia, Mexico, & Antarctica
On the final day, youth visited three continents! Youth started the day off in Australia, where they made “ocean in a bottle” creations using oil, water, food coloring, shells, and sand. Youth also participated in a LEGO coral reef build challenge, and practiced Aboriginal Dot Art. After lunch, they headed to Mexico to make piñatas from cereal boxes and enjoy a lively game. The adventure wrapped up in Antarctica, where youth learned about the icy climate and experimented with making oobleck and snow dough. To finish their journey, youth added the final stamps to their passports and reflected on their travels in their journals.

The camp was a huge success! Youth left with new knowledge about different countries and cultures, along with fun memories of their “around the world” adventures.

Record Books for Cloverbuds

Cloverbuds have a special record book to complete. It can include photos, drawings, and written thoughts about what you liked in 4-H over the past year. Parents and older siblings are encouraged to help Cloverbuds get started on their record book. Turn in the Cloverbud Record Book to your club leader on or before the due date. Each club has a different due date, so ask your club leader or family mentor for the details.
Find Cloverbud Record Books at https://fonddulac.extension.wisc.edu/4h/records/ under record book forms, or they can be picked up at the Extension Office if your general leader does not have any.
