School Reopening Plan To Be Shared Aug. 5
Dear St. Michael’s Families,
In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, our success in creating a safe environment for our whole school will depend on our commitment to the values that have always been the foundation of our community: taking care of one another, kindness, responsibility, respect, and resilience by everyone who counts themselves a Dragon. We must move forward as ONE.TOGETHER. as never before in this time of uncertainty and disruption.
St. Michael’s has worked very hard to establish a campus reopening plan that will enable us to welcome students, faculty, and staff back to in-person learning in a physically-distanced way and with health precautions and smaller cohorts/class sizes in place -- a plan that will need ALL of us to embrace new ways as a full community.
Throughout the spring and summer, our COVID School Reopening team, with support of the Board of Directors’ Risk Committee, has been coordinating the logistics of a safe and productive return to school, as we continually examine guidance from local, state, national and global public health and education sources. Through final meetings with the Faculty and Board of Directors this week, the Team’s plan is nearly complete and VERY comprehensive. The entire plan, which adheres to the School’s original start date of August 31, will be shared with families on August 5.
The health and safety of our students, teachers, and school community will always remain our TOP PRIORITY. As we continue to ensure superior academic instruction and the social-emotional development of our students, physical distancing, mitigation strategies/facility upgrades, and other measures will help safeguard the health and wellness of our community. As such, St. Michael’s families should expect that the daily routines of school life will be different in many ways in order to ensure we can all remain together on campus. It is our collective commitment and vigilance that will determine our success and the safety of our community.
Thank you for your tremendous support and patience. I look forward to sharing our plan with you next week.
Sincerely,
Bob Gregg, Head of School
