Dear ones:
Terry, from The Golden Key School in Canton, Ohio, wrote to us recently.
"I wanted to share the Mindful Music impact. We are a non-public Charter School for students with special needs. 90% of our students are students with Autism. Last week, a mom posted to us as you see in the attachment (above). So when we don't realize it, it is impacting. Thank you for your wonderful work!"

Please consider
supporting A Mindful Moment with a tax-deductible donation. While many of our 150+ schools can afford to pay $20 to $25 per week for Mindful Music (averaging $1 to $2 per student for the entire school year), just as many cannot. Your gifts allow us to share Mindful Music and Mindful Poetry Moments with any school or organization who wishes to use it.
Help us help Mason and so many others find a way to calm, center and focus to be able to learn, connect and thrive.

In exchange,
here and below, is a meditation for you. In it, I share one of the protocols I use to settle into myself and check in when I am experiencing agitation. The acronym I use is HALT to explore states-of-being (hungry, angry, lonely, tired) that can lead to poor decision making.
It feels especially good to share this with you at this time of year. I learned the HALT acronym in the 12-step rooms of recovery. The first meeting I attended was on this very day, more than two decades ago. That first step was as important to me as the practice of meditation has become.
In harmony and health,
