Hi All, As a reminder, the updated Wisconsin 4-H FAQ are located at https://4h.extension.wisc.edu/4-h-faqs-related-to-covid-19/ it has the summer guidance at the bottom of the page.
You may have seen the Food at the Fair event that is happening monthly at the Dodge County Fairgrounds. On of our 4-H leaders, Jane Schmidt will be making and selling cream puffs at these events starting Saturday, May 8. She only needs a couple of 4-H volunteers to help during the day. If you are interested in helping please contact her at 920-210-4033. Come out and support the 4-H Leaders Association and have a delicious cream puff!
Since we are not able to do overnight camps at Upham Woods, I am working with colleagues to provide an Upham Woods Neighborhood Camp. Registration will be coming out next week but I wanted to give you "save the date" information for June 12, June 26 or July 10. The program for the day is the same so families can choose the one that works best.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
Marie Witzel 4-H Youth Development Educator marie.witzel@wisc.edu 920-210-3080 I am following Wisconsin Department of Health Services, UW-Madison, and federal guidelines due to the COVID-19 virus outbreak. I am working remotely and am also available by phone at 920-210-3080.

Achievers (Oscar Stowell) Before the meeting club members picked up garbage for roadside clean-up along the road, in the parking lot and down by the Rock River.
Richwood Rangers (Ciara Schreiber) The club is still encouraged to write a letter to the seniors at Marquardt Manor. The club is hoping to have highway clean-up sometime in May.
JoAnn's Donations the most recent donation from JoAnn's has MANY bolts of fabric, sewing supplies, and St. Patrick's Day & Valentine's Day decor. The fabric is light, meshy, and makes GREAT swag for barn or booth decorations! First come first serve and it all must go! Call the Extension office at 920-386-3790 to stop in and take a look!

JUNE
- Sewing and Textiles - Using the 4-H STEAM Clothing series from University of Nebraska at Lincoln, we will explore some basics of sewing. Projects will be introductory sewing and will require users of this Explore 4-H Project kit to use their own sewing machine. The “Let’s Sew!--A Beginner’s Sewing Guide” by Nancy Zieman will also be referenced. There will also be a Halloween textiles project that will not require the use of a sewing machine, but rather will use skills for following instructions and using tools to cut and create with deco mesh.
- Cloverbuds - Here comes SUMMER - let’s get outside and EXPLORE! The June Cloverbud Explore kit will be full of activities to explore nature. You will go on a scavenger hunt for signs of wildlife, learn to identify different types of birds and plants, collect objects from nature, learn how seeds travel, and create some fun nature inspired art pieces.
- Animal Science - Using the Veterinary Science Project curriculum, we will explore what you need for animals. From their basic needs, to body language and some areas in between. No matter what kind of animal you may have this information can be helpful to learn. You may also get some ideas for non-animal exhibits for the fair.
