For the April A&F Staff Profiles, team members reflect on achievements, current endeavors, and what excites them for the future.

Tricia Chastain has been selected as Georgia Tech’s next executive vice president for Administration and Finance and chief business officer. Chastain brings more than 23 years of leadership experience in higher education and government across Georgia and will begin in her new role on May 19.  

Steven W. McLaughlin, provost and executive vice president for Academic Affairs, has been named the 14th president of The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, effective July 1.

Members of the Tech community were honored at the 2025 Faculty and Staff Honors Luncheon on Friday, April 25. Congratulations to several team members from Infrastructure and Sustainability’s Environmental Health and Safety department for their dedication to serving our community and commitment to cultivating well-being.  

Atlanta’s Biltmore Ballrooms were abuzz with fellowship and toasts as more than 200 faculty, staff, and researchers recently celebrated their decades of dedication to Georgia Tech at the inaugural Long Service Dinner. 

The A&F Staff Culture Advisory Council is proud to announce its newest members:

Grace Victor, business relationship manager for the Office of Information Technology, who is stepping down after three years as co-chair for the A&F Staff Culture Advisory Council stated, “Serving on this council—and having the honor of chairing the A&F Staff Culture Advisory Council—has truly been one of the highlights of my career at Georgia Tech. The commitment and passion of our members to build a stronger, more collaborative workplace for all A&F employees has been nothing short of inspiring. I hope their work encourages you to share your voice and get involved.”

In an interview, proud Double Jacket Jennifer Chirico, associate vice president for Sustainability, shares her educational and career path that has led to her current role as inaugural associate vice president for Sustainability at Georgia Tech.

The My Green Lab initiative offers an approach for transforming campus labs into more efficient spaces while producing less hazardous waste. By prioritizing sustainability in our labs, Georgia Tech can have both a global reputation for research and responsible resource management. 

The Georgia Tech Staff Council invites all staff to the annual 2025 Staff Appreciation Day! Join the fun at Exhibition Hall between 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. on Monday, May 5. Bring your Buzzcard for check-in.

This year’s excellent gathering will feature old-school arcade games, stellar refreshments, righteous photo ops, a def DJ with killer karaoke, and more. We double dog dare you to wear your favorite fly 80's style. 

Volunteers are needed to help celebrate our staff!

To better support volunteers, the Staff Council has reserved a room in the Exhibition Hall to serve as a hybrid workspace for those who may need to work before or after their volunteer shift. To receive an official Staff Appreciation Day t-shirt, you must sign up to volunteer for at least two hours.

Georgia Tech Human Resources’ annual school supplies drive is currently underway! Georgia Tech employees with children (grades K-12) who may not have the financial means to obtain the necessary supplies for school can submit a request for supplies. Visit the article link below to donate to the program, to request supplies, and to learn how this program benefits Tech families.

Due to upcoming renovations to 500 Tech Parkway, HR services, including onboarding for newly hired faculty, staff, and student employees, will temporarily relocate to the Administrative Services Center (ASC) beginning May 5.
