As A New Season Beckons...
We were getting ready for Josh to leave for the embassy in Georgetown, Guyana, where one of his Megaplanets and two large Stellar Disks are on display. He was looking forward to dining in style with the ambassador and participating in "artist exchange" events, presenting lectures and chatting with students at the Burrowes School of Art. But sadly: COVID. So now we are composing a video that will go to the embassy and speak in his stead. No chatting and schmoozing: disappointment. No free Guyanese food: disaster!
On the bright side (really?), earlier this year Josh made new Planets, many with Corona glass and his most recent fused cane details. Assistants Tucker Litchfield and Kirk Broga finished the glass this summer in our cushy air-conditioned cold-work studio. And now we have a lovely collection of Planets and Megaplanets, fresh off the polishing wheel!
