Last week, Jon Lewis and Ken Coles, center right and left, respectively, took their GEOS 303 Field Geology class to Bilger’s Rocks in Clearfield County. There, students examined rock textures to infer the direction streams flowed when they deposited these sandy sediments about 300 million years ago.

ACHIEVEMENTS
A retired coach and 11 former athletes representing eight sports and spanning seven decades make up the IUP Athletics Hall of Fame’s Class of 2021. See who they are.
Geoscience’s Jonathan Warnock spoke at a recent Clean Power PA Coalition press conference in support of Pennsylvania joining the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative and of using the funds raised to benefit coal counties that have lost jobs.
Biotechnology company Takara Bio USA has released a series of video interviews with biology professor Narayanaswamy Bharathan about his work to develop faster, inexpensive COVID-19 testing for rural communities.
In May, more than 130 people tuned in to a virtual watch party of Student Affairs in Higher Education’s spring commencement video. Graduates Taylor Jones, Annika Philippe-Auguste, and Molly Verostick were honored for their accomplishments.
