Thank You Tallowood for Thirteen Years
by: Minister of Missions and Evangelism, Eddy Hallock
I have no idea where time has gone! I do know that the last 13 years have been amazing. God was so kind in allowing me to serve at Tallowood. You, dear people, are so kind in blessing my family’s life. Your friendship developed over the years is more precious than gold.
Tallowood through its financial giving and volunteerism makes ministry possible and multiplies its effect not only in our great city of Houston, but in Texas, USA and the world. We have seen hundreds commit their lives to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord over the years on our mission trips. You have been a facilitator in helping start over 30 churches that are sharing the gospel around the world. Tallowood allows 5 different ethnic people groups to meet on our campus in their own native language. These churches are a blessing. We are also privileged to have from 30-40 different nations who meet with the larger church on Sundays. Volunteers do a sensational work and have for years in the local prisons and youth facilities, as well as in the retirement villages scattered around our city and in the various mission centers of our city as well as MAM, WHAM, and others. Tallowood is one of just the few of 5000 Texas Baptist churches who continue faithfully to teach its children and teenagers missions through its historic established missions education programs.
Through these years missions has had as the core of its vision and goals to win people to Christ, teach our members how to get involved in personal evangelism and to make disciple makers. From this basis springs our ministries and we continue to reach the goals set out for missions in the 2020 quest of making relationships, making disciples and making an impact.
Great days are ahead for Tallowood. Cheryl Richardson will be leading the way. Seek to be involved. Let God’s passion be your passion and enjoy the journey forward guided by the Spirit of God and walking by His side.
