ILR Spring Registration opens Monday at 9:00 a.m. (EST)
And just like that, it's time for registration already. Don't hit the snooze button this Monday—registration for ILR's spring semester is here!
Is your trigger finger exercised and ready? If you've already perused our catalog and jotted down your list of favorites, don't forget to set your alarm for Monday morning. We'll send you the registration link at 9:00 a.m. On the other hand, if you're still deliberating, may we suggest dedicating some time before Monday to review our spring catalog or our website? Some of our classes and events tend to fill rapidly, so we advise against postponing your registration for too long.
If you requested our catalog within the past week, know it is coming. Not yet receiving our catalog? Request a copy.
Have an upcoming group or club meeting? Bring a stack of ILR catalogs and help spread the word. Catalogs are available in the ILR office (Oxford) and the Voice of America Learning Center (West Chester). Call the ILR office to arrange the quantity and pick-up time.

Online, mail, and in-person registration
At 9:00 a.m. (EST) on Monday, March 3rd, you will be emailed a live link to online registration. At that time, our website will also be updated with the link, and our office will begin processing mailed registrations in the order they were received. While we maintain three convenient registration methods—online, mail, or in person—online registration offers the quickest path and immediately secures your place in the class. The online registration process takes only a few minutes and requires no passwords. Once you've experienced the ease of online registration, you'll understand its appeal. It remains the most efficient means of registering, benefitting you and the ILR office.

Asked and answered
Q. Why are your virtual classes held on Webex instead of Zoom? A. When ILR (and most of the world) pivoted to virtual learning in 2020, Miami University had only the Webex license, so that's where we invested our time and training.
Q. I see classes I wish were offered in a different location or format. Can they be repeated in my desired location/format in the future? A. Ultimately, where and how to teach is the instructor's choice. Because all instructors are volunteers, we try to accommodate their wishes. If you see a class you would like to be repeated elsewhere, please suggest it to the instructor or note the request in your end-of-semester survey.
Q. How can I review the course descriptions if I don't have a catalog? A. If you don't have a printed catalog or can't open this digital version, go to the ILR website. The link to view "Classes and Events" is on our homepage.
Q. Why do you need a medical form from me if I'm attending virtually? A. Unfortunately, it's possible to experience a medical emergency during a virtual class. Miami requires a completed form each academic year.
Q. Do I need to request a parking permit? A. Parking permits are required for classes on the Oxford campus only. After you have registered, your confirmation email will contain the link to request an electronic permit for your vehicle. Paper permits are no longer issued.
Q. Are scholarships available? A. Absolutely. Our generous donors and sponsors make it possible for individuals facing financial challenges to acquire full or partial scholarships for the ILR membership fee. Please submit scholarship requests to the ILR office.

Generous thanksILR continues to fulfill its mission, thanks to the generous support from individual donors and businesses serving as sponsors or advertisers. We are delighted to announce that Berkeley Square is once again sponsoring ILR's spring semester and will host our ILR Annual Meeting and Ice Cream Social and an exclusive tour of their beautiful Hamilton community. You can sign up for these events during ILR's normal semester registration.
Since 1997, our focus has been on creating a positive impact in the lives of lifelong learners within our community and beyond. We express our sincere gratitude to Berkeley Square and all our supporters for placing their trust in us as we strive to make a meaningful difference.

“ILR has become a highlight of each Fall and Spring. I enjoy many of the offerings each semester.” ~ Ken Grabach, fall 2024 “I am always amazed at the professional level of presentations, and the variety and timeliness of subjects offered.” ~ Dennis Byrne, fall 2024 “I always look forward to seeing what classes are offered and then having to narrow it down because I cannot take everything. ILR does such a wonderful job of offering a wide variety of classes.” ~ Elaine McLean, spring 2024

Early birds encouraged
Registration opens on March 3rd and closes on March 24th. Please register early to enable us to get all the necessary materials to you in a timely fashion. Additionally, all in-person classes and events have limited seating, and some may reach capacity. Register early for the best availability and to ensure you are not waitlisted for your favorites.
Never hesitate to add your name to a waiting list. Openings often occur and, based on waiting list sizes, changes to larger rooms may be possible.

Meet your instructors
Course descriptions in our catalog leave little space to feature our instructors. Want to learn a bit more about yours? The About section of our website offers a deeper dive into the talent you'll find in our classrooms.
Give high praise to your instructors. They're volunteering their time for you.
Maps & parking
Not sure how to get to your class location or how to request an Oxford campus parking pass? The Locations and Parking section of our website lists all locations, on and off campus, many linked to a Google map, as well as instructions for requesting your electronic ILR parking pass (necessary for Oxford campus locations only).
