Scholarships
The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is now accepting applications online for several scholarships for the 2025-2026 academic year. Applications for scholarships for the 2024-2025 academic year are now closed.
To apply, and for information on available scholarships, eligibility requirements, and necessary application materials, please visit http://snap.uic.edu.
Explore nearly 40 scholarship opportunities, including:
  • Sybil Sosin Scholarship for LAS students also in the Honors College
  • Bernard Shaw Prize for Communication, English, History, and Political Science majors
  • James B. Zouras Endowed Scholarship and the Dorothy Thelander Memorial Scholarship for those with financial need
  • Merrill C. Kenna and Brent D. Nicholson Scholarship for Gender and Women's Studies, Political Science, and Psychology majors
  • PNA-Hugh Hill Endowed Scholarship for English and Communication majors
  • Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund Scholarship for children or grandchildren of Vietnam veterans 
All completed scholarship applications must be submitted online by Sunday, December 1st.

Things to do in Chicago:

The 111th Annual City of Chicago Christmas Tree in Millennium Park: If you're looking for a low-commitment, free outdoor activity, head to Millennium Park on November 22nd to see the world-famous tree illuminated with thousands of lights and ornaments! If you can't make the date, don't worry—the tree will stay lit until January 8th.
Christkindlmarket: Also on November 22nd, Chicago's Christkindlmarket opens once again! Come shop at this vibrant outdoor winter market's vast variety of vendors worldwide, and enjoy the cozy, festive atmosphere! Admission is free, and the Market is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 am–8 pm and Friday through Saturday from 11 am–9 pm.
