Hi Neighbor!
When was the last time you had a laugh attack?

For me, it’s been a while.  This is not to suggest that I am living a desolate life, one void of humor, entertainment, or joy. I’m fine, really!  But the other day, I was sitting at my desk at work, and because I heard the awesome sound of genuine laughter, I looked out my window to find three college-aged girls just howling with each other, not-a-worry that people might be staring—it was beyond their control anyway!

Their laughter made me smile and conjured immediate memories of several unreserved outbursts I’d had in my past. I could easily recall the people, the places—maybe not the subject-matter—so it’s obvious that these moments of hilarity are meaningful and important. It got me wondering if I’m a rare, sad case, or if other adults find that they don’t all-out laugh quite as much as they did when they were younger.  And, it got me thinking that I’d really like to laugh more.

For giggles, I looked up “benefits of laughter,” on WebMD, and do you know, there’s an entire Laughter Directory?  In a quick Google search I discovered laughter yoga, laughter therapy, and LOU, Laughter Online University, so this is a thing, this hankering for hysterics.  For our physical, mental, and spiritual health, we might want to get cracking on the cracking up . . . or we may just crack!
Guffaw, y’all!
