We are so excited that the start of camp is just a few days away. People often ask me, why are you so passionate about camp?
I tell them I grew up going to camp and it was a life changing experience for me. The camp I grew up going to was a small camp that did not have all the things that Hanging Rock has.
They did not have a zipline, giant swing or rock wall. Basically all they had was basketball, volleyball, tetherball and we swam in a pond. But, that was all I knew. Every summer I got to go to camp and it made a huge difference in my life.
Why am I so passionate about camp?
- Because every summer I see young people make Christ the Lord of their life.
- I see young people who have gotten off course with their walk with Christ re-connect with Christ and fall in Love with Him all over again.
- I see young people overcome fear: by going down the zipline, swinging from 60 feet in the air or by rappelling down a cliff.
I can't wait for camp! I hope you parents, youth ministers, preachers and church leaders are encouraging your young people to come to camp to have a life changing experience.

We still have room in many of our camp sessions. All of the Horse camps are full. 5th & 6th grade & Jr. High Paintball are full. Some wilderness camps are getting close to being full as well. High School Wilderness (NYR) is full.
But, we still have plenty of space in all of our Main camps. We need to have at least 6 people for the H.S. Mission Trip to happen and right now we only have 4. We need at least 2 more students to register for this mission trip by June 5th.
Please keep our Event Coordinators, Faculty and Staff in your prayers as they lead these camps.

Great is Thy Faithfullness Campaign
|
We have one project left to complete for our Great is Thy Faithfullness Campaign.
We need to raise an additional $65,000 to add a bathroom to each of our Hilton bedrooms.
This will enable those that come to our disability camp to have private bathrooms, this will also give us space to have small marriage enrichment retreats, and the hilton will be a great place for leadership retreats.
Will you pray about helping us raise money for this.

Golf Scramble
June 25, 2022
|
This year's golf scramble will be held at the Covington Golf Club. We will be having a meal in the clubhouse and will bring back door prizes. Please consider joining us for this fundraiser to raise money for the Great is Thy Faithfulness Campaign.
$300 hole sponsor gets you a four-some of golfers plus advertisement for your church or business.
|
| We need your help to offer more young people an opportunity to come to camp, who cannot afford the whole registration fee or a partial registration fee.
On average our fee is $250 for a week of camp. So a donation of $250 would help pay for a camper to come to Hanging Rock. Last year we helped 36 young people with scholarships. Any amount will go toward helping young people attend camp.

| From Caleb,
The weather is getting hot, bugs are out, and summer staff have moved in at camp—it’s summertime! We are in the middle of our summer staff training, working on getting the whole team acquainted with our extreme activities, getting them familiar with the camp, and getting them all-around prepared to serve at Hanging Rock this summer. We have made a change to our staffing this year—we hired four additional summer staffers so that we can provide extra faculty for our camps, so we have a larger team than usual this year!
As program intern, I’ll be directly over our summer staff and in charge of their schedules—and
I am excited about working with this group! This summer staff is fantastic. We have a great blend of returning staff and newcomers, and it’s great to see the way that they are all coming together and forming a team. Each summer staffer has their own gifts, and they’re starting to see how they will be able to put those gifts to use to serve God at Hanging Rock.
These young people have chosen to devote an entire summer to serving. They all have hearts for Christ and want to be ALL IN in serving Him, and that’s a beautiful thing to see. As the summer progresses and camp starts, it will be exciting to see not only the way that they are able to serve others, but also the way that they grow personally.
