Engagement Survey Due Oct. 2

The 2018 Engagement Survey is now available. Please take 15 minutes to share your thoughts on the future of Oregon's tourism economy. Your input will assist Travel Oregon and the RDMOs in our 2019-2021 planning efforts.
As Travel Oregon develops the upcoming 2019-2021 Strategic Plan, we're working to ensure Oregon’s tourism industry andindustries related to tourism have ample opportunities to participate and engage in the planning process.
The survey will remain open until Tuesday, Oct. 2 at 5 p.m. After you take the survey, we encourage you to invite your staff and external partners to participate.

Living with Wildfire

Travel Oregon recently worked with Uncage the Soul to produce a video about wildfires in Oregon.  The video provides context and background on wildfires as part of a forest’s lifecycle, tells the story of the resilience of both Oregonians and Oregon's landscape, and encourages locals and visitors to support communities impacted by wildfires. It also raises awareness of how crucial it is to prevent human-caused fires.
We invite you to watch and share the video with your partners. For additional updates and resources, access the wildfire toolkit.

Register for the International Sales Workshop

International visitation is at an all-time high. (See the data, here.) Learn how to tap into this market at the International Sales Development Workshop in Eastern Oregon on Nov. 15, immediately following the Travel Oregon 101 at the Pendleton Convention Center.
Travel Oregon’s Global Sales team will offer an introduction to working with international visitors, a networking lunch and an itinerary planning session for Eastern Oregon tourism partners and suppliers. These workshops are intended to help local businesses learn about Oregon's key markets and understand the value to working with international visitors.

Oregon Trail Lyft Promotion Goes Off Without a Hitch

Last month, Travel Oregon partnered with Lyft and the Oregon Historical Society to bring mule-drawn covered wagon rides to the streets of downtown Portland in honor of the 175th anniversary of the Oregon Trail. More than one thousand Portland families and visitors hopped on a wagon ride during the week of Aug. 28-31. Riders were encouraged to bring two cans of food to donate to the Sunshine Division, who received more than 500lbs of canned goods.
The promotion took place in front of the Oregon Historical Society where riders were given free admission to the museum after their wagon ride.

Visitor Profile Study Results Available

Travel Oregon worked with Longwoods International to identify the profile of Oregon’s domestic visitors in 2017. The purpose of this study was to provide information on the structure of the Oregon travel market as a whole. This study includes regional and statewide data on visitor activities, state of origin and demographic profile of visitors to Oregon.
