HSI Bridge Scholarship Application

The HSI Bridge Scholarship is an amazing opportunity for graduating seniors to continue their pursuit towards higher education, at the University of Chicago. Selected students will receive a FULL-TUITION AWARD so that they may take a full year of graduate courses. The courses can be taken in any of the colleges except for the schools of Business, Law, and Medicine.

2019 Sustainability Internship Program
The Sustainability Internship Program pairs up students with a mentor on campus to conduct a project on sustainability, such as recycling improvement, food waste recovery, and bicylcing infrastructure. 

This is a great opportunity for undergraduates  as it builds many skills, provides leadership development, and project management experience. Applications are now open! If you want to apply, submit a cover letter and a resume to Sarah Koning by March 4, 2019 at skonin2@uic.edu.

Cancer Survivorship: The Underrepresented and Underserved
Join the UIC Cancer Center  Survivorship Program in one of their quarterly seminars as they highlight important survivorship research within UIC and the effects cancer and cancer treatment has on survivors and their families. 

More specifically, learn about the underrepresented and underserved and how this impacts their cancer survivorship. Topics of this seminar will include survivopship of African American women with breast cancer, and access of care for Illinois rural cancer patients. The seminar will take place this Thursday, and FOOD will be provided. Make sure to RSVP!

Mentoring Con Ganas

Applications for Mentors are open! Mentoring Con Ganas offers upper class students an opportunity to help incoming first year and transfer students. Mentors can offer insight into classes, professors, campus events, and provide a support system for new incoming students. This is also a great leadership opportunity for Pre-Health students. 

If you are a STEM student with a minimum of 2.5 GPA, identify as Latinx, will be a UIC student for the entire 2019-2020 academic year, and the 2019-2010 academic year is at least your second year at UIC, then you can apply!
