Register to Compete in the 2026 Three Minute Thesis Competition
|
Registration to compete in the 11th annual Three Minute Thesis Competition (3MT) is open until February 16, 2026.
3MT challenges you to explain your research in just three minutes, in a language appropriate to a non-specialist audience. 3MT helps graduate students develop their academic, presentation, and research communication skills. Registration is open to currently enrolled master’s and doctoral students conducting original research. All disciplines are invited and encouraged to participate! Past winners are not eligible, but past participants are welcome to compete again!

The Spring 2026 All-Majors Career Fair takes place Monday and Tuesday, January 26–27, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. in the Exhibition Hall. Graduate students are encouraged to attend both days and are not restricted to a specific date. Please note: Backpacks will not be allowed on the career fair floor. The Impactful Research Mentoring Workshop Series continues virtually this Thursday, January 22, at 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m, with a session focused on promoting Professional Development. Facilitated by Karena Nguyen, assistant director of Postdoctoral Services, and Jana Stone, assistant vice provost for Professional Development and director of Postdoctoral Services, this workshop is designed to help research mentees reach their full potential and build strong, productive mentoring relationships. CRIDC Employer Engagement Breakfast

Plan to attend the CRIDC Employer Engagement Breakfast, happening from 9:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, January 29, 2026, in the Exhibition Hall. The Employer Networking Brunch is an in-person networking event for graduate students and postdocs. Connect with Industry leaders, alumni, and 70 employers in a relaxed setting while enjoying a hearty breakfast meal (food is first-come, first-served), and explore career opportunities across a range of industries. Student registration is encouraged but not required.

Funding Opportunities: Apply for the Chateaubriand Fellowship Program
|
The Chateaubriand Fellowship is a grant offered by the Embassy of France in the United States. This fellowship supports outstanding PhD students from U.S. institutions who wish to conduct part of their doctoral research in France for four to nine months. Fellows are selected through merit-based competition with expert evaluation in France and the U.S. Interested applicants can apply for STEM or Humanities & Social Sciences-based programs. Novelis Graduate Scholars Program
|
The Novelis Innovation Hub at Georgia Tech is now accepting nominations for the 2026 Novelis Graduate Scholars Program, which recognizes outstanding graduate students conducting research in areas such as sustainability, circularity and techno-economics, high-throughput materials discovery, surface functionalization, and AI/data science applications in materials, manufacturing, and supply chains.
Selected scholars will receive an $8,000 annual award (distributed as monthly stipends in 2026) and are expected to participate in the 2026 Novelis Scholars Day at the Novelis Global Research & Technology Center in Kennesaw. Nominees must be enrolled full-time throughout the 2026 calendar year, including the summer term. Submit materials by January 30, 2026, to Dr. Suyoung Park and copy Prof. Shreyes Melkote.
Decisions will be announced in February 2026.

Stamps Health Services is excited to reopen the Women's Health Clinic with updates to better serve the campus community. The clinic has doubled its exam rooms from four to eight and now includes offices for four providers, up from three, ensuring improved access and care. Taxes 101 for Graduate Students

Taxes 101 for Graduate Students is an annual workshop held for all graduate students who received income from fellowships, scholarships, GRA, or GTA positions during the previous tax year. Representatives from Global Human Resources, the Bursar's Office, the Grad Student Lounge, and the Office of Graduate Education team up to help walk through the dos and don’ts of filing taxes as a graduate student.This year's workshop takes place in person and virtually. The in-person session will be held in the John Lewis Student Center's Ehmer Theater on February 10, 2026, from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. The event is free to attend, but registration is highly encouraged. The recorded session will be made available online after the event ends.
