FIT4MOM of the Month: Meet Renee Carter!
Renee joined Stroller Strides this summer and then signed up for our fall Body Back session. She worked hard, ate wholesome food, lost nearly 11 pounds, and shed 6.5 inches in just 8 weeks! Renee works as a Veterinarian for Spay Neuter Assistance Program of North Carolina. We love having Renee in our classes!
Hometown: I grew up in Eagle, Idaho, a small town just outside Boise
Kids: Team Blue all the way! Bennett, 3 years and Quinn, 8 months
Hobbies: When I'm not doing dishes, folding laundry and cleaning toilets, I like playing outside with my family, running, reading, crocheting, and I look back fondly on my days of telemark skiing with my husband when we lived near Lake Tahoe while I was going to vet school.
Why I Love FIT4MOM Chapel Hill: I happened upon a Stroller Strides class this summer via a blog I was reading, and after a hardcore hour of sweating, singing and smiling, I was hooked. When Amy mentioned Body Back, the timing couldn't have been more perfect. I had a 4 month old and was aching to get back into my groove and ditch my baby weight (and, let's be honest, fit back into my closet full of clothes). I'd been running on my own but needed more. With Amy's guidance and support, as well as that of 11 other amazing mamas, I was inspired to give everything I had to Body Back: I wrote down every bite I took, I worked out 4 times a week, I didn't cheat, I stayed true to myself and my goals. Through FIT4MOM Chapel Hill and especially Body Back, I've learned so much about myself, gained a level of confidence I haven't had in years, developed a love-hate relationship with burpees and push ups, and I now have enough energy to not only keep up with my boys but outlast them (oh, and all those clothes fit now!). I am so grateful to have found Amy, FIT4MOM Chapel Hill and our entire community of amazing mamas.
