A Reminder for Campus Safety |
As we prepare for finals and Winter Break, we want to share a few important safety reminders. Residents are responsible for the behavior of their guests in the residence halls. Please make sure your guests are escorted and avoid allowing people to tailgate into the building.
If you encounter an unauthorized individual in a space on campus, such as a residence hall, but they are not causing harm, Durham's HEART team can assist by connecting them to resources without involving the criminal justice system. They are accessible by calling 911 or the non-emergency line at 919-560-4600 and may sometimes respond with law enforcement if needed.
For verbal or physical violence or criminal activity, call the Duke Police emergency line at 919-684-2444 if you are on campus, or 911 if you are off campus. Stay on the line until your call is answered to ensure the appropriate response.
You can also report unauthorized individuals through the LiveSafe app. Thank you for helping to keep our campus community safe!
