Happy New Year!

This long, cold January makes me even more grateful for the warmth and generosity of our supporters and volunteers. In the past year, you stepped up to help us distribute nearly 15,000 bags of food, stock our in-school pantries with 10,000+ pounds of nutritious snacks and meals, and continue our long-standing partnership with Harvesters to provide weekend BackSnacks to students who need our support.  

Feed Northland Kids has exciting plans in store for 2024!  Our board is set to embark on a strategic planning initiative that will help us assess the needs of our community and continue working to fill food-security gaps for children and families.  We eagerly anticipate our 2024 events including a Spring Break food drive with Dani Beyer Real Estate, Zona Rosa Spring Fest, the 6th Annual Know Norm Run and the 14th annual Bill Cross 5k Run/Walk, just to name a few.  

We cannot do this work without you.  Your financial gifts and food donations ensure that we can continue to fulfill our mission of feeding hungry children in Clay and Platte Counties.

Thank you to Restless Spirits and Sharp Minds Trivia for a fun January night of New Years trivia.  Congratulations to the Seymour and Atchison team, Distilled Wisdom, for their expertise in all things New Years Eve! 

Feed Northland Kids is so grateful to be one of two recipients of the Mayor's Christmas Tree donation this year!  Mayor Jean Moore presented Executive Director Gwen O'Brien with the donation at the January City Council Meeting.  

The Donnelli family and several volunteers from Pleasant Valley Baptist Church braved below zero temperatures to get our food kits to 61 Liberty Public School families this month.  

A team of Feed Northland Kids board members partnered with another 30+ volunteers to build and distribute over 400 bags of food for North Kansas City School District students and their families.
