September 16 was a night for the record books. More than 250 students, teachers, faculty, and friends cheered on the profession that makes all other professions possible. Thank you for supporting our future Tiger Teachers!
Our spirit leaders were the incomparable Haleigh Bryant, national champion gymnast and LSU Gymnastics assistant coach and Jay Johnson, 2025 Coach of the Year and head coach for LSU Baseball, reigning National Champions.
We also give special thanks to our guest "coaches" at the pep rally: D-D Breaux, legendary LSU Gymnastics Coach and chair of the LSU College of Human Sciences & Education Dean's Advisory Council; Louisiana State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE) President Ronnie Morris; Louisiana State Superintendent of Education Cade Brumley; LSU Board of Supervisor Rebecca Boniol; LSU Interim President Matt Lee; LSU Interim Provost Troy Blanchard; LSU Lutrill & Pearl Payne School of Education Director Laura Choate; and LSU College of Human Sciences & Education Dean Roland Mitchell.
We celebrated our future Tiger Teachers, and the launch of our new LSU Tiger Teaching Corps. The program is a high-impact initiative representing LSU’s bold commitment to advancing the teaching profession in Louisiana and beyond. As a declared major in a teacher preparation program, students join a group recognized for their passion, potential, and promise as the next generation of educators and changemakers. The program is for freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors majoring in teacher preparation programs at LSU and offers a range of benefits including mentoring, financial support, and personal advising.
