Orientation Edition, Vol. 1
|
Dear new students,
Congratulations on making it through your first full week of classes! I know that Welcome Week and Move-in Weekend were a blur and a whirlwind of information, so over the next few weeks, I plan to send a few more editions of the Christendom Beginnings to review some of the most important points from Orientation. I'll do my best to keep them brief, since I know you're now in the thick of your studies, but I want to make sure that you have a way to revisit the many resources you now have at your disposal!
If you ever need anything or have a question and don't know who to ask, you're always welcome to email me or stop by my office in the St. John Paul the Great Student Center.
God bless,
|
Mr. Tim Cook
Vice President for Student Life & Dean of Students

Curfew applies to all freshmen and sophomores under the age of 21.
- 12:00 a.m. (midnight) on nights before class days
-
1:00 a.m. on nights before days without class
For curfew, the men need to be in the men's quad (or in their house), and the women need to be in the women's quad. You do not necessarily need to be in your room, but you must be in the halls or in the immediate area between them.
It is always your responsibility to check in with the RA on duty for curfew. Do not assume the RA will come find you.
Why do we have a curfew?
We have a curfew for two main reasons:
- To encourage good habits. You are here to study, and that means you need enough sleep to succeed. Aim for at least seven hours each night.
-
To help build community. We want to create a time and space for you and your classmates to connect and build friendships.
While curfew may feel inconvenient now, many older students will tell you they are grateful for the experiences they had because of it. And you'll probably find that even when you don't have a curfew, you'll still tend to go to bed early!
If you need to be away from campus for a night, please submit an Overnight Request Form.
