What does the word "Mission" mean to you?

If you are a disciple of Jesus Christ, your “Mission” is the personal, life-directing, and God-glorifying calling on your life. Our goal in the Tallowood Missions Ministry is to help you discover and pursue your unique role in God’s redemptive story and to come alongside you through this wonderful journey. Collectively, as His body at Tallowood, our goal is for our “Mission” to be fulfilled through Community, Culture, and Connection:
  • Community: We are a Christ-exalting witness in our homes, neighborhoods, and workplaces.
  • Culture: We bridge cultural boundaries in our community and city to display Jesus Christ through words, service, and hospitality.
  • Connection We partner with the local and global body of believers in prayer and commitment of time and resources to impact Spring Branch, Houston, and our world for Jesus Christ.

Introducing the New Tallowood Missions and Facebook Page

The Tallowood Missions page (tallowood.org/missions) has a brand new look. But the look is not the most important difference. Our new page defines the vision, mission, and values that communicate and direct our path forward. In addition, our new Missions Facebook page (facebook.com/missionstbc) will enable us to share service and equipping opportunities and provide a place to post project photos and videos. Please pray for us as we seek to mobilize the people of God at Tallowood for the mission of God in everyday life.

Serve the City 2018

We are so grateful for more than 500 of you who joined us on April 21 for our third Serve the City. Eighteen different projects across our community and city were completed by age groups ranging from grade school children through our most senior adults. A very special addition to our outreach this year was our Tallowood Treasures Class who packed rice and beans to feed the homeless. If you have a great story from Serve the City we invite you to share on our Facebook page.
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you;
and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.” Acts 1:8
