Good morning! Move-in and Weeks of Welcome programming begin for the Class of 2029 this week. Rodrigo Martinez-Duarte was selected as a Fulbright U.S. Scholar; Clemson scholars break down the cultural impact and success of Netflix's "KPop Demon Hunters."

• New and returning students begin moving into main campus residential communities this week from Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Anticipate heavy traffic, particularly on Highway 76 and Perimeter Road, as well as impacts to parking and unloading zones.

• Clemson is introducing an expanded programming schedule for new students known as Weeks of Welcome, featuring a wide range of programs, activities, events, workshops and collaborative seminars over the first six weeks of the Fall semester.

• Associate professor Rodrigo Martinez-Duarte has been selected as a Fulbright U.S. Scholar. He will visit Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden, as part of a broader effort to build strategic international partnerships that could benefit South Carolina.

• Jacob Johnson, a master’s student in plant and environmental sciences, is helping shape the future of cotton farming. His cutting-edge gene editing research supports a multidisciplinary team working to create a dual-purpose crop that boosts economic and environmental sustainability.
